RUCKUS LEARNING PARTNERS WITH NATIONAL WILDLIFE FEDERATION TO CREATE NEW RANGER RICK™ STORYBOOK APPS

New iReaders Plus Digital Magazines and Enhanced eBooks Will Roll Out in the Ruckus Learning App

Ranger Rick - National Wildlife Federation(NORWALK, CT) – Ruckus Learning™, a division of independent digital family education and entertainment company Ruckus Media Group Inc., today announced a partnership with National Wildlife Federation, steward of the enduring Ranger Rick™ franchise which is celebrating its 50th anniversary. Ruckus will produce new Ranger Rick interactive storybook learning apps in mobile markets in the U.S., Canada, and other worldwide territories.

Ruckus’ Ranger Rick’s Adventures: Boomer & the Coyote iReader features the newly-designed Rick Raccoon and his animal friends, and will debut on iOS devices in Spring 2017. Additional Ranger Rick iReader titles will be released throughout the year.

As part of the agreement, Ruckus will also distribute digital versions of Ranger Rick and Ranger Rick Jr. magazines, education guides for teachers and parents, and enhanced eBook versions of Ranger Rick print titles from Rowman & Littlefield (under the Muddy Boots imprint).

In the first new comic-book style iReader, Ranger Rick and his friends Boomer Badger and Scarlett Fox have a close call with a coyote and are challenged to save a pet cat along the way! This adventurous story includes word highlighting, record your own voice functionality, and engaging learning activities.

Ruckus Learning storybook learning apps help kids hone reading skills and reinforce national educational standards. Some of the topics covered include: Book Concepts, Alphabetic Knowledge, Phonics, Word Recognition, and
Reading Comprehension.

The new storybook apps will also be made available in the Ruckus Learning App, a curated environment for children where parents, teachers and caregivers may register and create child accounts. Should they do so, they are provided with educational feedback on their child’s experiences with all of the branded apps, eBooks, comics and videos. This includes data about time spent, amount read, watched and played, along with content recommendations and additional reading and learning tips.
