(NORWALK, CT) – Ruckus Media Group, an independent digital family entertainment company, today announced a distribution agreement with Hasbro, Inc. and IDW Publishing, provider of popular licensed comic books based on Hasbro’s brands, including MY LITTLE PONY and TRANSFORMERS. Ruckus will offer digital downloads of MY LITTLE PONY licensed interactive storybook apps, full episodes and short-form video content of the MY LITTLE PONY: FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC series from Hasbro Studios, and IDW’s digital comic books in mobile markets in the US, Canada, and other international territories.
Ruckus Media Group’s MY LITTLE PONY-branded mobile storefront launches with 125 individual titles and bundles. A selection of content is available for free within the storefront app, with additional content available for in-app purchase. New Ruckus iReaders, additional content from Hasbro Studios, and further editions of IDW’s comic books will keep the MY LITTLE PONY storefront app fresh throughout 2015, as well as within Ruckus Media Group’s main Ruckus App.
Now available as a standalone app in the App Store and in the MY LITTLE PONY mobile storefront is MY LITTLE PONY: APPLE FAMILY APPRECIATION DAY, a brand-new iReader app from Ruckus. This fully interactive storybook includes word highlighting, a record-your-own voice function, an integrated word hunt, educational activities, and embedded video. In this story, Apple Bloom, one of Ponyville’s own Cutie Mark Crusaders, learns a valuable lesson about appreciating family and having faith in those ponies who have her best interests at heart, even the eccentric but wise Granny Smith.
Ruckus iReader storybook apps allow kids to practice reading skills and vocabulary and aim to reinforce national educational standards, such as book concepts, alphabetic knowledge, phonics and word recognition, and reading comprehension.
Titles on Ruckus Media Group’s mobile platforms are advertisement-free, direct-to-own downloads that can be managed via cloud storage and viewed on all iOS devices. Parents may register for free and create child accounts. Should they do so, they are provided with educational feedback on their child’s experiences including time spent and amount read, watched, or played, along with content recommendations and learning tips from teachers and caregivers.
